Hey guys. I'm currently trying to install Gentoo Linux on my computer. I downloaded the .iso file and tried to burn that on a CD to make a boot CD. It doesn't work. I tried extracting the contents of the file and burning those on a CD (keep in mind that I'm using specifically the ISO feature in Nero) and it doesn't work either. How do I make it work?

What image file did you download for the ISO image? I just downloaded the Universal LiveCD about a week ago and burnt it using Nero 6. You say it will not boot, is there anything on the CD at all? or does the burn not even work?

btw, Just used Gentoo for the first time about a week ago after downloading the LiveCd. Now it's installed on my home server as well as my desktop. I love it!

. if the file is already an .iso, do not extract its contents
. In Nero, File, Burn image, and point at the .iso
You do not have to do anything else.
