can anyone tell me where I can get some bulk 2 conductor line cord I did see some postings as to various Colored Lenghts but all where 4 or more

thanks

I do not know of anywhere you can get 2 conductor cable. Is there a reason you need two wire? Time Motion Tools ( sells 4 wire silver satin in bulk, which is what we use for custom line cords. I think even Home Depot carries it.

Hope thie helps,

Scott M.

they must make it , we keep seeing line cords packed with phones that are trwo conductor . If you really need two conductor have you tried graybar, altel , anixter ect .

or try the cable manufacturesrs sites directly

Try a direct importer of overseas jacks and accessories. We used to buy 1000' spools of black line cord (4-conductor) and use it for line cords on bakelite desk sets.

There was a large tariff on bulk imported cordage, so they started crimping a modular plug on each end, and calling it a 1000' line cord to get past the fees!!

I think TTT may have you in the right direction. We still get those "cheesy" 1 pair station cords on a lot of our new phones (including the Avaya's 2500YMGP single line sets) but they are made in China now.

thanks for all the input, I was orginally thinking just one pair as the digital phone we have operate on just one pair and then I got to thinking well since there are 40 odd stations involved what if they decide to add another device at the same location, . . . I got to looking around since they cabling contrator is giving us patch cables with all 8 wires I'm leaning toward the Siemon S110AB5-200JP it has the RJ45 plugs and the 110 punching,

So what you were really looking for was station cabling, not line cords?

Not a big deal here, but that type of distinction could be a BIG ISSUE other places.

Google for silver satin line cord and see what you come up with.

The answer has always been 42

I think he's saying he's using structured wiring and does not want the phones to interfere with some other future devices.

If this is what is needed a far better way to do this is to use a dongle that splits the one pair to the phones and passes the other pairs along to the other device.

I certainly would not want a system that relied on a special single line modular cable as the cables are liekly to go bad and be replaced by non-technical types.

Good luck.
