I had independant speakers attached to my computer for a short while. They had been removed and the original speakers that are built into the computer will not work now. The system show that they are there and that they are working, but getting no sound at all. Have checked the connections and unplug and replugged everything in and still no sound. I have a Packard Bell 7955C and use operating system 98. Does anyone have any suggestions other than restoring to manufacturers specs????

Are the speakers plugged into the audio of your soundcard? Open your case and check that it is connected.

Check that the motherboard has the speakers enabled by looking at jumpers you find the info to locate it in your mobo user manual
