Building a new computer system geared for gaming. I have the Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo and am ready to buy a hard drive. Ive seen the 36GB raptor from WD and was wondering first of all is it worth it? and second if it is easy to setup with using a larger drive on ATA133 for video storage etc. Thank you.

The only real difference at this point is on the physical side. Performance is roughly the same whether you go with IDE or SATA.

You should have no problem setting either one up.

Dito that,
There is no differance at this time in performance but there maybe once the second generation of serial ATA drives are released.
Is it worth buying SATA? well I don't think so at this time but only because in the UK there is a 25-30% differance in price, if this changes however you would be daft not to go SATA as it is obviously the new drive standard.
