I'm at stage Standard CMOS Features. I get a message IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed. I have the hard drive on IDE 1 and CD-RW on IDE 2, each on different cables. Can anyone give suggestion.

The reference to 80 conductor cable means that you more than likely are using standard (40 connductor) IDE cables. If so, all of the connectors will be black.

While the newer (80 connductor) IDE cables have 3 different color connectors. (Blue, Gray, & Black) Blue (end) connects to the Disk Controller. Black (other end) is the Master Drive providing you adhere to (CS) cable select drive jumpering. And finally Gray (middle) this is the Slave Drive.

Enjoy
