I am actually trying to get a sum of current data in a form that I have created. I am right clicking and then using the sum expression to do this in a text box. If someone knows a better way, please help.

Thanks so much

Cheech

The formula should be in the Control Source property.

Always trying to learn something new! Where exactly, in Access, can you right click and find a "sum" button?

In the text box put the following code as control sourcee

=Sum([titleOfFieldToSum])

Each record is by account name. I am trying to give a balance in there account by adding each activity in that account record. When I scroll to each person, I would like for there account info to sum on the form, not the whole feild becuase then that would be totaling everyone's accounts together.

Thank You

Create a subform that is linked to the person account number on the master from then display the sum on the subform. Make sure the subfrom is in single form layout.
