Hello all. I build intranet apps using IIS/ASP and Oracle 8.

I want to build myself a complete home environment. I already own an old P2 300MHz box w/ 128Mb RAM. I'm going to buy a new box soon (some P3 1GHz monster, or possibly dual proc, running w2k) but wanted to know of your experiences of building such an environment.

I suppose the basic issue is should I host the O8 db on the new w2k box (Personal Edition?), which would put all three tiers on the same machine, or should I set up my old P2 box as a linux server and put it on there. I have zero experience of linux, but am willing to learn if this is the best solution.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks for your help.
