Build custom user interface for Crystal Reports

Is it possible to create a custom user interface for Crystal Enterprise? I have been told this can be done using RAS. I have never worked with RAS and I am not familiar with the different components of RAS. If this is possible what is the best approach? How or where would you begin?

First learn what version of Crystal Enterprise you might use.

You can build interfaces using basically any language into CE, as well as Crystal Reports.

Your subject asks about CR, your post about CE, which are you using, what version and edition, and what development language would you prefer?

We are running Business Object Enterprise XI (Developer)on a unix box. We will be using Java as the development lanuage.

How would I go about building the interface and connecting it to BOEXI? Would the users access the interface through enterprise?

I was given this task because I know how to build reports in Crystal Reports. The enterprise portion is a new animal for me. I know how to post the reports in enterprise but that is the extent of my enterprise experience.

Your request is common, and of course you can sustomize/bastardize the interface that ships with it too.
