I've tried to convert the HEX in ld 32 but I can't seem to make anything of it. All teh valid TN's I have produced are disabled.

My users are complaining that external callers will hear one ring and then be dropped. I had one user complain that he conferenced two people and while he could hear them and they could hear him, they could not hear each other. I'm having my i2050 users say that people (Long distance) that they call can't hear them or are breaking up. I called them on my cell phone and it was perfectly clear. We only have one route. Please inform.

sounds like you need to clean up a switch. your running out of cpu or ram.. out all disabled sets to start with, clean up the acd that causing that bug.. leaving trash in a switch long enough and you get lots of strange problems..

i would do a inv generate sets and inv prt sets in ld 117 and start there..

About John's pay: The money that the customer avoids paying is probably 4+ times his pay and well beyond the contract rate paid to the mother ship. Further, the customer often (not always) does not realize the hardware failure avoidance that comes with someone who sleeps with the switch vs. the casual tech dispatch method.

Sure, this customer is very likely in the know since the fact is, he is there... But myself being resident tech at a hospital for a year and an insurance company for 4 years...I'll be damned if the systems weren't the most reliable and predictable we had...all because a resident tech can nearly "will" it to come up, or go down...

John will probably confirm that the chance of a card failing while he simply looks at a cabinet is 10 times more likely that it when he is outside the switch room. Talk about vendor response time eh? ETR, 3 seconds

There is rarely a smarter tech than one who is an on-site.

the good thing about being in house is just that, i know this switch better then anyone else. i can tell from the screen response time if i have a problem.. i have removed all the unsed software, old routes analog trunks, left in stations etc.. when i got here, they had being running on one cpu for at least 8 months according to the "last scpu timer" the switch was doing an ini about once a month. now, with almost the same hardware, it's been over a year

Ok I've tried to follow John's advise and find some things that need cleaning up. I've noticed that alot of the err codes are related to virtual loops. How do I find out what loops are inactive and how to delete them.

you delete loops in ld 97 chg supl x4 you can't delete a loop by accident, if it has anything built on it, the switch stops you.. ld 20 prt tnb 120 0 would show anything built on that supl.. here;s another good command i swear by and have posted a time of two

ld 117
inv generate midnight

or just inv generate.

the midnight request the switch to do a new list each night.

then anytime after that

inv prt sets

or inv prt cards

that idu's each phone in the switch.. and helps me find users that swap sets
