I have a windows 2000 advanced server that has started rebooting after a bug check. It seems to be happening every week to 10 days. We havn't loaded any new hardware or software in that time. For a while I actually thought someone was restarting it on purpose, then I finally talked to everyone I needed to.

I've tried reading the minidumps with Microsoft's debugger tool, but the documentation about getting the symbols loaded is wrong. It references webpages that don't exist and it was last updated in June.

Is there anyone that can help me either figure out the error or figure out how to get the debugger working? I've never delt with this error before, so I'm not too sure what infomation is needed.

Thanks!

You cannot view anything from the Microsoft online Symbol library. I do not recall the error message, but only your debugger knows how to properly access the site.

See my FAQ here. You need to change the library choice and download the full Win2k library rather than the XP symbol library: faq779-6451

Also, set your machine for the large DUMP model. It has a lot of needed information that is missing in the small model.
