Here is the description of BUG0841:

There is a patch from Nortel for that error to be resolved. Contact your vendor and have them install patch P18024.

Thanks, ArchibaldJCox! I'll contact our vendor.

MERIDIAN11C, this is a brand new Opt 11 with Succession 3.0. I don't even have any sets built yet. I thought maybe I forgot to build something in LD 15 or 17??? If it's just a problem with needing a patch, no big deal.

Here's a question, would a brand new PBX need any PEPs or patches installed right out of the box?

Yes. Recently I worked in conjunction with Nortel on a project where all the PBXs were out-of-box 11C with Succession 3.0 software. There were 4-5 different patches that they installed as standard first steps. (P18024 being the one that was missing from two sites, hence I had the same BUG0841 problem.) I'll see if I can get the list of other patches for you.

ArchibaldJCox, thank you so very much. You people don't know how much of a help you've been to me. This is my 4th OPT 11 install and I think there has been around 2 years between each install. Every time I install a PBX it feels like the first time.

I work on so many other systems (analog microwave, 2-way radio, cisco routers, fiber MUX, etc.) that it is hard to be an expert on any of them.

Anyway, if you can give me the other patches, I will call our vendor and have them installed.

Once again, a HUGE thank you!

Bill

ArchibaldJCox,

Did you ever find those other patches?

why do you need deny codes after 911? did i miss something i need to add to my switch?

johnpoole, this is why I have deny codes after 911:

To stop misdials to 911/9911 using SPN, FLEN and SDRR. In the following example, callers dialing 9911 will route to the 911 center. However, if they dial 9911 + any additional digits) the call will be blocked. There is a slight delay before ringing 911. Note - if SPN is "11", FLEN must be 3

Arch,

Thanks for your help. I provided the list you gave me to our vendor.

This week, YOU 'Da man!!!

Hang on folks. That is NOT the current patch list.

The proper patch load for ANY system that is 25.40 or higher will be a current load of what Nortel calls Dependency Pak patches. These are grouped into catagories for specific applications installed, and the general ist is about 30 to 50 patches depending on what the site has installed (IP, Call Pilot, Symposium, etc.)

Your vendor should run an MIRCC patch sudit to determine the proper patch load for a particular switch.

Sorry if anyone misinterpreted my message to say that the list was some sort of must-have patches from Nortel. These were the specific patches that were required on all the sites with the project I was working on. In this case, Option 11C running Succession 3.0 software. I have no description of the patches, just a list of them.
