Does anyone have an in house call recording solution that's cheap?? I'm looking at Red Box Recorders at min but I think the SRC module from Mitel will bump the cost up. Is it possible to turn off encryption for some ACD users only??

encryption is system wide On/Off

Cheap is relative. I have no recommendations.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

The SRC is very in expensive in comparisan. Especially if you have VMWare as the SRC (Which is now part of the MBG) can be virtualised. How many users are you talking about?
Plus do you use ACD Hotdesking?

Really in this day and age turning off encryption is not recommended.

Not sure on your requirements but have some cheap devices on a per phone basis, the cheapest puts a tap on the curly cord and then plugs in to the mic input on your pc, a small application on the pc records the call.
I have used these in the past and they work fine.

Recording 5 users and would be looking to spend between 1-2k GBP. I would prefer a ip solution that could save the recordings on a SAN.

We have used redbox in the past both via SRC and with enycription turned off. I would always recommend using src but obviously this bumps the cost up quite a bit. If you are only recording 'outside' calls then can they not do line side recording and therefore eliminate the need for SRC and turning of encryption?

That would be fantastic as I don't need internal calls recording. Would we need to put the recorded users on a seperate ISDN30, or could the redbox pick out calls to certain numbers??

To bad you don't have DNIC instruments. I could make you a deep deal on some DLMs

They put a splitter on the isdn and they pick up events for SMDR and MiTAI they will pick the recordings from the list of users defined.

Thanks bobcheese I'll ask my reseller about that.
