In our sx 2000 light, i am removing all old programming that isn't need any more. I want to remove some trunks that are nolonger used, so i used the BU command to busyout the T1 card the trunks are on, i then went and removed the trunks. now when i try to use the RTS command to take them off manbusy, it shows MC270AA universal T1 at Location 4 1 4 1 x(channel) unassigned but when i stat that trunk card it still show manbusy, isn't it suppose to show as unassign?

any help is greatly appreciated

If the trunks are all unassigned and you have deprogrammed the links in the Digital Link Assignment Form, you should be able to next go to the System Config form and deprogram the slot, then physically remove the card.

Possible Caveat: depending on your software load on your 2K, deassigning the links may make your message links jump, resulting in a temporary loss of service to the remaining trunks. I've not seen that in a while, but I recall it used to happen. (compare to deassigning a peripheral node in the cabinet assignment form)

Again depending on S/W load there may be a phantom trunk alarm appear on the pbx after the next activity switch. If so, forcing another act switch will clear it.

You shouldn't need to RTS the busied-out trunks once they've been deprogrammed.

Something else I forgot...
When forcing an activity switch always do it from the command line/maint console, never from the front panel pushbuttons in the main control.

Why?

Because if you use the command line method the switch will WARN YOU if what you're about to do will result in a degradation of service (knock the switch down).

Command line syntax:

To go from Plane A to Plane B: ACT SW 1 1 7
To go from Plane B to Plane A: ACT SW 1 1 2

The machine will ask you to confirm. If you get the warning message about service degradation, then don't do it. (wait 10~15 mins and try again)
