You should look at forum318 and forum321 and maybe forum320 - someone in there might be able to help you...

I have some files ".DAT", and I don't know their origins.
I need to recover the data. it would Like to receive all possible help.

If it is Btrieve, do you have the BUTIL utility? If you do you can do a BUTIL -SAVE FileName.DAT FileName.SAV which will dump the contents of the btrieve file into a ascii file. There is also a utility called btsearch that you may be able to use to get the data out of as well - there are lots of references to that app in the forums I mention in my first post.

When you say you don't know their origins do you mean that you don't know if they are btrieve files? If they're not btrieve files but you still want to get the data out of them you may have to write your own app. Do you have other files in your system of the same type? Maybe you can look at you those files are handled in your application and look to develop an export utility?
