Btrieve Table Locking?

I am running an application against a Btrieve database. The application does inserting/deleting/modifying of records in the database. It runs fine when I have exclusive use of the database. But, if someone else is using one the database, the application sometimes locks up.

What would I need to prevent this problem ? Is this a locking issue?

Sounds like you've got two engines accessing the data. For example, if you have a workstation engine and a server engine accessing the same file at the same time, you'll get an 85.
To prevent this problem, you need to make sure both users are using the same engine to open the files.
