Using Pervasive server v7 and Pervasive Workstation SQL2000 we are able to use Scala accounting using the DDF files and Btrieve but get Btrieve Requester Inactive error 20 when trying to link into MS Access or update records using Pervasive Control centre.

The Pervasive Control Center that's included with Pervasive.SQL 2000 can't access data running on a server running Pervasive.SQL 7.0. The ODBC drivers are very different. You should upgrade the server to Pervasive 2000. Either that or copy the data locally and use PCC or Access that way.
