Hey all,

I have to write an application using ASP and Btrieve v.6.15.

The tables I am going to be updating have a column named 'uniqueid'. I am assuming this is an "auto increment" column.
Does Btrieve 6.15 even have auto increment as a column attribute?
If so, how do I figure out if this column has that attribute?

I guess the bigger question is ...
Is there a utility I can use to look at the database schema/table descriptions? (Please don't say "use MS Access". :) )

Thanks in advance!

Btrieve 6.15 does not specifically define fields, however if there is an autoincrement field, it will most likely be an index and you can check for that. As far as utilities for looking at the schema, Btrieve 6.15 didn't have anything but there are a number of third party tools that can create and edit DDFs.

mirtheil,

Thanks for the quick response.

How do I check for an index?
(Sorry, I'm really unfamiliar with BTrieve).

Do you have any recommendations for third party tools to edit DDFs?

Thanks again,
-joe
