Btrieve Error 87

Gentlemen,

Maybe somebody can suggest something regarding Btrieve error 87 in Windows 98 application. The only recommendation I have found is to increase number of handles. But however,
if the application works properly in one place and returns this error in another one, it means handles may somehow still stay active (?). Is it some feature to close them in the code or to check current number of open handles or something like this...

Your help will be very appreciated.

The status 87 means you are running out of File Handles from the Btrieve side. You don't mention what version you are using so it's hard to tell exactly why it would work in one place but not another. Do you mean that it works on one workstation but not another? If so, it could still be a lack of available handles. You can use the Btrieve (Pervasive) Monitor program to see the peak number of handles. In the application, when a file is close, or a STOP or RESET Btrieve operation is called, the handle is released.
