Hi, i've been having btrieve errors 3006 popping up in some applications.

I've been having a hard time trying to figure out what can cause this.

Can anyone help me pinpoint the source of the error, what might be the common causes of this error or anything that might help me investigate the source of this error?

Thank you very much

First the definition of 3006:
3006: The MicroKernel router detected an invalid session
The session information contained in a position block is invalid. This status code occurs for one of the following reasons:

The application is trying to use a position block for a file that resides on an engine and for which the connection has been previously terminated via a B_STOP (25) or B_RESET (28) operation.
The application is trying to use a position block for a file that resides on a remote server and that encountered an abnormal network error on a previous operation.
When using only the NetBIOS protocol with a remote Workgroup engine, the client is sending more bytes than can fit into the engine's network read buffer. Go the machine where the remote Workgroup engine is installed, and try increasing the value of the configuration parameter, Server4Communication Buffer Size4Read Buffer Size.

-- Have you checked the various items listed?
-- What version of PSQL are you using?
-- Is there anything in the PVSW.LOG.
-- Is thre a pattern to the 3006 (happend at the same time or the same user)?
-- What OS is the 3006 occuring on?

Hi, Thanks for the quick response. Here are more detailed explanations on my error:

We are distributing and installing a software that uses Pervasive as a file manager so we buy install Pervasive too. We know that it can work fine at some of our customers. But in some cases, we have sporadic out of no where BTrieve Error Status 3006 and then the rest of the application crashes.

--We are using Pervasive TCP/IP protocol
--We have enabled Auto-Reconnect options
--We have boosted up the number of cummincation Threads
--The error happens with Pervasive 8.5, 8.6 and 8.7
--The error happens in theses environnement:
-Win 2000 client and Server
-Win XP
-Win 2003 Server
--We could not establish yet any correlation between workstations, users, sites.
--For the PVSW.log we checked, there are some Pervasive Error stated (3111, 3111, 3131) but ne3ver close to Error date)
--We are trying to force the Error 3006 to happen in test environment but we still do not know how.

Wo, this is a huge post. Hope you got enough to help me on that one!!!
