We run a Netware 4.11 operating system utilising Arcserve to back up our data.Arcserve uses Btrieve for its own database facility.
Since upgrading the Btrieve version we have been experiencing problems whilst performing restores.Btrieve error 50 file owner already set. Error 162 he client table is full.Try increasing the number of active clients in the Microkernel database engine system resource setting.
As we are only using the Btrieve facility for Arcserve we have had no exposure to these errors or problems.
Arcserve itself runs an old version of Btrieve 6.15 whilst we have upgraded the servers 10 user licence to version 7.00. Any assistance on the errors would be most appreciated.

Make sure that the new version of Btrieve loads before Arcserve loads. Novell also uses Btrieve internally. I solved the same issue for myself by manually running astart6 only when I needed to do a backup, otherwise just make sure that it runs last. Btrieve will already be loaded when arcserve attempts to load it. Also, check that the Btrieve configuration is set up with the same or greater values for the parameters Arcserve uses.
