Attempting to install/access Btrieve 5 & 6.15 data files from a Windows 2000 computer with locked-down \WINNT directory. Does the BTI.INI have to be in this directory? Is there a way to point BTRIEVE to another location?

Does BTRIEVE require anything else to have to be in the \WINNT directory?

Thanks!

With Btrieve v6.15, the BTI.INI has to be in the "Windows" directory. It's the only place Btrieve will look. If it doesn't find it, it'll use default values so that may be enough for you.

With Windows NT or 2000 you can give rights to specific files. But normally once you have the settings correct you should not need to change it anyway. Gil
