Is anyone using BT Broadband Talk in the UK?
I recently filled the relevent online forms out to upgrade my current 2Mbps ADSL connection to the 'Up to 8Mbps' service, but I HAD to select a Broadband Talk package. I selected the free Evenings & Weekends one since I didn't really have any intentions of using this service and this package was free. As a result BT are now going to upgrade the speed and send me a 'Home Hub' - this appears to be an ADSL router with built-in 802.11g wireless and VoIP capabilities. I don't intend to use this but to continue using my Cisco ADSL router.
I have looked into the VoIP Service BT run and it looks like its a SIP service. Has anyone hooked up a 3rd Party SIP device (router or PC application) to this service?
Also the FAQs state that if the Broadband phone line is in use then the analogue line can be used to make a 2nd call - does anyone know if the Free Evenings & Weekends package covers the analogue line as well?
Thanks
Andy
