BST Door Phone - Norstar Compatibility

I was troubleshooting a BST Door Phone on a CICS 2.0 in the states for 1.5 hours and experienced weirdness.
-One time it's audio one way on one side, then its reversed another time.
-No OPEN button shows up (has a DOC onsite)
-F9*4 will not show it exists one time, then will another time.

We had the client ship it back to Toronto, then tested that BST on CICS with 2.0, same issues.
Tried 4.1, same issues
6.1, 7.1, all work well with BST.
Untested is 5.0

We have always thought BST was totally backwards compatible on Norstar.
I gather we have been lucky all this time to install BST only on newer CICS software versions.

But I do wonder about MICS, 3X8 & 6X16.

Your memory is good. The question is if their claim is correct.

I saw that on the Install Guide.
My Translation
Norstar Modular ICS and Compact ICS - all
Norstar 3X8, Compact 6X16 and Modular 8X24 - DR2 to DR5

But what about DR 5.1 on the 3X8?

It's not on the master Norstar Compatibility sheet because it's not technically a "Norstar" product, or it was forgotten and never updated.
It also not on the BCM Compatibility list because such list does not exist.

I like how the guide also said to program 1 or 2 Intercoms based on which software you have, but it does not tell you which of the 2 goes with which software level.

We tried 1 or 2 Intercoms and also we tried Handsfree as Standard or Auto.

For what it's worth, I recently replaced a failed BCM50 with a CICS 6.1 and the 2 BST door phones that were connected to the BCM functioned fine with the CICS.
