BSD090 Main Cabinet - Mail Error 2

Here's an odd one. This problem (see repeated printouts below) has been going on since the switch (Opt 11C - one of my 4 remotes) was originally installed way before I came to work here. From what I've been told, the cabinet used to belong to the City of Breckenridge, Colorado & originally had Meridian Mail.

We no longer have the Mer Mail, and I keep getting repeated error messages that the "power" is out to the mail (that no longer exists). From what I've been told Neither our vendor or Nortel has ever been able to figure out why this happens.

Otherwise - the switch ALWAYS runs fine & was recently upgraded to 3.0+ with no problems. I'm going to count my blessings otherwise! The error messages can be pretty annoying when I'm trying to resolve other issues. Has anyone else ever seen this & knows why it happens - OR - knows how to turn off the reporting? Thanks in advance!

very strange, what do you have on card 10?.. i would do a reload of the software. the codes are not only a pain but they load the ram and the cpu, i have seen a larger switch do a soft restart because of large changes done at the same time as a buffer being full.. that was an 81, the command was load 14 new 23.. about half way through adding the trunks the screen froze and the dial tone stopped.. then the customer was knocking on the door.. (i hate it when that happens)

Slot 10 is currently vacant. There never has been a card in this slot with the exception of the card used for Mer Mail when the cabinet was in Breckenridge. Yes, it is pretty strange and very annoying. I was hoping that the succession 3.0 upgrade would resolve the issue, but that wasn't the case.

I'd be satisfied with turning the messages off, but if I can't do that, I'll live with it.

install a card and a set in that slot, edd then change a buffer under Parm, i would just up the 500B by a hundred or so, this is just to re-write a file on ini, not a true part of the problem.. ld 17 chg parm then return until you see 500b and chnage that... then edd then ini... not a sure bet but i would give you even money on it clearing it

we had a bad case of bsd90 alarms in an 81c ...changed the power supply, cabinet including backplane, cards in there ...
it turned out to be a problem with the harness cable

Interesting concept. I'll try adding a card & set in slot 10 & see what happens. Right now I have no spare analog or digital cards in any of my remotes but will be content to wait until I do as I'll probably be getting one in the next 6 months or so. Not a critical issue as I've been putting up with it for over 3 years already!

I'll speak to my vendor regarding the the harness cable tomorrow as he'll be here regarding one of my other remotes. He's extremely helpful & would be just as curious about this as I am.
