I currently have 100+ BS450-24T switches cascaded in stacks in a medium sized campus. I have the opportunity to pick up some used 450's to have on hand for expansion and spares but want to ask the right questions of the current owner to see if these used units will be compatible with my current 450's. All my current 450's were purchased new and are as follows:
Model:AL2012A14
Part#:308181-A REV 08
HW:Rev L
FW:v1.48
SW:v4.2.0.22 ISVN:2

Q: Would it be safe to say that as long as the used units are at "HW:Rev L" then it would be possible to flash up to my current FW/SW and cascade these new and used switches together in a stack or do I need more info from the current user to determine if his units are compatible with mine?

Thanks in advance.

I have 55 450s of all hardware revs, B and D mostly, but some L. I have no trouble mixing them in stacks at all once the FW and SW levels match.

They weigh different amounts some are different colored, the lights do not all match but the switches inter-operate, so far as I can tell, perfectly.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Make sure you get the passwords and logins!!!!!
Rev L 450-24T does not have the backdoor recovery firmware.
