I am concerned about the possibility of cracking passwords in a device running the firewall IOS and would like to hear some other opinions. Does the IOS have the ability to log failed access attempts? Disable logins after some # of attempts? Email alerts of failed attempts? I know I can run a tool such as Brutus against a router for days/weeks and try every alpha-numeric combination until I have the console and enable passwords. What do you do to prevent this?
