Hi, I am creating a text document and like to circle or underline some text manually -- so I am using the pencil tool to "draw" but the the edges are square and hard....is there a way to soften lines (tried feathering but it just lightens) so to look more realistic? Like a brush in Photoshop?

Thanks.

...personally i would do it in illustrator using an art brush and import that...

...or use photoshop and import that instead if you don't have illy, save to greyscale and colorize in indesign, apply an opacity mode if required...
