Having some trouble trying to use the BRU to backup BCM to my laptop. Has anyone got any advise regarding this. I keep getting an error with file name cannot be found. I am having trouble comprehending the format of the paths that is required. Any assistance or advise is appreciated.

When connecting to a BCM for backup purposes with XP SP2 over a WAN.

Create a user that can log into your PC.
Create a shared Folder or Folder\Subfolder(s) for multiple sites.
1: Connect and tell windows to remember password.

2: Start backup, and watch for the XP SP2 popup blocker and if it appears, right click and select always allow pop ups from this site.

Logical Name: Use whatever sounds good.

Location \\IP address\shared folder name. (This is your PC using a fixed IP address.

User Name: Name of the PC referenced in the Location IP address entry\User name built on that PC.

When automating the backups the backups will automatically overwrite the old backup. Manual Backups will require you to rename the backup.
When setting up an automated backup the BCM attempts to contact the remote site and will report if it cannot log in.

I hope this helps.

Thanks guys I will try what is recommended above.

one more thing, make sure any firewall you have running on your laptop is either disabled or you have created an exception.

Thanks for your information. I finally got a chance to site down with the information provided above - Thanks again.
