browser taking to weird page when type in address bar

The last few days browser (IE 6.0) has been taking me to strange site on occassion. It doesn't happen all the time, not sure exactly when it does. When I type in a URL in the Address bar, it adds the above url to the FRONT of the URL I typed in and takes to that new URL site.

What kind of error is this?

Then Spybot

http://security.kolla.de

Then Adaware:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com

And that will solve your issues.
