browser size detection

I am a new user. Bear with me.

Here's my problem: the layout left-justified depending on the size of the user's browser. Everything is supposed to be centered on the page.
Currently, I have everything placed in layers and formatted accordingly. Do I need to use tables in order to have the images centered despite the size of the browser?

Nevermind -- I searched through enough of the posts on here to find I am about the 15th person to ask this question. I've got my answer. Thanks anyway.
