Browser showing errors, broken images!

One day I woke up and my internet browser stopped displaying websites properly. Maybe 1 out of every 2 sites was all screwed up (formatting, coding, images). The status bar shows "Done, but with errors". The images dont show up right. The original coding displays instead of the pretty graphics, etc.

I thought it was my internet explorer, but when I opened firefox...same thing. None of my other computers in my residence have this problem. I am clueless as to why this isnt working for me, and how to fix it?

PS- as instructed by another 'tech pro' i disabled my firewall...this didnt change anything.

I'd start by checking your network connection then computer hardware.

The answer is "42"

all the other pc's in my place work fine. laptops, desktops, etc. just this one desktop...

What errors are being reported? In Internet Explorer, click the error icon in the lower left. If it happens with multiple browsers, it must be something added to that computer (either intentionally or not). Have you changed or added any antispyware software, website development software, browser toolbars, or browser plug-ins?

i have no idea what I've changed recently. anything I should look at in particular?

You could look at the errors that are being reported.

Can you post a link that has this problem & a short description of what you see?

On the computer with the problem, I would go into control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall any toolbars. For example google toolbar or yahoo toolbars etc. It's easy and it can't hurt.
