Browser searching for 127.0.0.1

My browser (both IE7 and Firefox 1.5) when searching for a website seem to look for 127.0.0.1 first as it keeps showing up in the status bar. I know that its the loopback, and my host file has not been corrupted. Other than a delay in loading pages this seems to be culprit in not being able to access a web-based program that my school uses called blackbaud. (I can access the page, but can't log in, so pagefix doesn't help). Working on the advice given in other threads, I have used AWG and panda and here's what I got:

i had to open a service for blackboard for my kids before it would let them log in.

i am running a dsl modem and opened the port from their college's server.

sorry for not getting back sooner, but you need to run some AV/Spyware programs such as Adaware & Spybot Search & Destroy to clean up your box.

download them, update them, run them from Safe Mode(make sure to immunize with Spybot when you are finished scanning).

after cleaning the pc create a new restore point.

MyWeb is a booger to get rid of.
