This just started happening on a Dell Inspiron 9300. Have checked for virus, adware etc and come up negative.

Happens when connecting via wireless or with a cable direct to network.

Happens with IE 7 and with Firefox.

Have reinstalled current drivers for built in wireless

I establish a connection to the Internet (say wireless) and the connection speed etc is excellent. I start the browser and can connect to any site I want for several minutes. Then I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Nothing I do except restarting the computer will allow me to see a website. The connection still shows as excellent but I just can't get to any sites. Same thing happens on a cable. Same thing on Firefox.

Thanks

First, do other machines on this same network exhibit the same problem?

I take the wireless adapter and the ethernet adapter are phisically distinct.

Cheers,
Dian

No other machines have a problem.

Both adapters are built into the computer.

Problem solved.

Turned out to be the firewall. Had to uninstall and reinstall. Works now. Thanks for all suggestions.
