browser page timeout

Hi,
I am opening an IE 7 window to display an actuate report using
browser code with javascript to build a URL. the window opens ok and the report starts executing ok. I get the message about "report is executing, please wait" and the cancel button. how do I refresh the page in the browser window while the SQL for the report is still running? sometimes the report takes 10+ min. to build and my page is timing out.
