Browser opens automatically

One of our PC opens the "bad" sites automatically on the browser. And it changes the home page in to some prone sites address. Is it a virus? Please clarify.

Try downloading and running the program called AdAware. This is available from

http://www.downloads.com.

If you have some sort of spyware on your system this program should detect and remove it for you.

If ad-aware finds openme.exe then delete it. It's an XXX dialer that can cause your problem and then some such a big phone bill. If it doesn't find it click start--run--type msconfig--ok--open the startup tab. Do you see a line that looks something like this:

C:\Windows\regedit.exe /s C:\Windows\System\radD2C4B.tmp

If so uncheck it then click ok and restart.
The radxxxx.tmp may be a bit different than what I have shown there. Then after restarting find and delete the radxxxx.tmp file shown in your msconfig. Let us know if that helped. If it doesn't tell us everything that's checked in msconfig.

Thanks for the info. I found open.exe in two loaction in my hard disk. Is it a system file? Can I delete it?

I have seent RADcc175.tmp was found in my machine startup. As you said I have cleared by using MSconfig.exe.

I'm a bit confused. Did you run Ad-aware and did it find openme.exe (not open.exe)? Here's a direct link to get Ad-aware if you didn't find it:

And is the bad pop-up problem fixed? Restart the computer and see if it returns.
