Hi there, for some reason my browswer has started opening minimized when I click on a link. This does not happen when I simply open a new window. When I click on a link it appears as a minimized bar near the top left corner of the screen. Any ideas?

Dawn

what did you find out about this?

I'm having the same problem.

thanks.

Ok, your post helped, in a way! Thanks! When I read your post it suddenly hit me that I could resize the window with my mouse, instead of clicking on the maximize button. So, when I clicked on your link the 2nd time, it opened maximized. Wow, and I didn't even need to use that software. :) Thanks.

Ok, I was wrong, this is still not fixed. Now it is worse, as it is opening minimized even when I open from the icon, which it didn't do before. Any ideas? I am a little hesitant to try the Autosizer software. I will if no other solutions are found, but, since this hasn't always been a problem, I want to first try to fix it before I use a work around. Thank you, Dawn

Howdy Dawn:

Okay.. First, right click on the icon on your Desktop and select "Properties"..

Now, Click on the "ShortCut" tab and look about 2/3 down the box to "Run".. Set that to "Maximised".. apply and okay out..

Now, start IE and open a link. Once the link has opened, go to File>Close and close the ORIGINAL window.

Use your mouse cursor now to drag the sides plus top and bottom to the edges of your screen. Once that is done, use the File>close command to close that window.

Now, start IE again..it should open maximised. Now, click on a link and it should open full screen as well.

Hi Murray, I don't have a short cut tab in the desktop properties. But I appreciate your response. I actually finally fixed the issue. (I hope this time) What I did is I manually dragged the window larger, then I clicked on the maximize button and then restore. Then I closed it, when I opened again, or clicked on a link, it opened in the restored state. Thanks Dawn

Excellent, Dawn... that fixed my problem, too. I REALLY appreciate you posting those steps. Now if I can just remember that the NEXT time it happens.

Thanks very much,

Barry
