A Win98SE system... although will call up favourites Ok it will not search in Google or Yahoo... It will not go to other pages within a website..

Would it be just reading from Cache or is there maybe some virus/malware that could be causing it...

Happened since memory was upgraded (coincidence.. ??)

Start out by clearing all of your cached broswer files. Then check out your hosts file to make certain no entries have been made to it.

not sure in win98.. but in winxp it is in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\

Thanks fellas...have come across that "hosts" caper before... didnt make the connection... I think last time it was putting a url screen up on the desktop and I had to go into display and remove it in one of the apps in there..
