Approx. 5->10 min after connecting with either IE or NS I find that the browser locks up solid. Both are current vers on a Win2k sys P4 1.7 512m One other thing that I've noticed is that when I exit NS, I've found that netscp.exe remains active. Is there anything known that might cause this behavior? Closing NS & disconnecting then reconnecting again results in a profile manager window being displayed and if the current / only profile is used then it terminates with a "already in use" message. ??
thanks,

What version of Netscape? We've seen similar things with Netscape 4.7 and upgrading to at least 4.79 resolved that issue. If it is Netscape 7.1, we found there have been occasions we have had to reconstruct the Netscape profile to resolve that issue.

Thanks for the reply LadyH. Both IE & NS are current versions (NS=7.1)... It's taken quite a bit of testing over the past month but I think I've actually got this issue figured out.

I am also running with McAfee Security Suite. Apparently there is a bug in SpamKiller that causes it to consume all the CPU after a period of time or after an unidentified trigger of some sort.

After uninstalling SpamKiller I've been able to re-stablize my system and appear to be working just fine right now. Time to start monitoring the McAfee support forums to see when a fix is available I guess.
