Browser Freezing

One of my collegues is having a rather annoying problem whilst browsing the internet. When opening certain pages the screen goes blank or freezes. There is a 'Done' in the bottom left hand corner, but if you move the cursor off the screen the hour glass appears.

See is runnnig Microsoft Office 2003 with Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106

Has anyone seen this before?

Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved!!
