Hi guys. Dunno where I picked this up but the fonts inside my MSIE are all enlarged. I run the screen resolution at 1024x768 but, on some webpages like Google and Yahoo, the text looks like it's running on 800x600. This is only within the browser; the rest of the computer runs fine. On web pages with a specified font, the font is normal, but on other sites without a specified font, it's pretty obnoxious. I did not alter the fonts settings before I noticed this, and changing the fonts back to default did not change it. Deleting my internet cache did not change it either.

At the same time that I first noticed the fonts, my AdAware quit detecting ANY spyware, regardless of hours of surfing. I reinstalled Adaware and picked up 3 new spyware, but that's it. The fonts are still skewed.

I ran HiJackThis and got the following log:
Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

Did I picksomething harmful up that I'm missing?

Nope. Took it out, rebooted, ran Hijack This againt to be sure it was gone, ran AdAware again just in case. Still got big fonts. Another user has a profile on this computer (WinXP) and it's normal fonts for them.

Thank you tho.

Dont mean to patronise you but make sure view text size is set at medium

Patronize away. I checked the font size under Tools>Internet Options right away but never knew there was an option under View.

******

And you're right! *sound of open palm on forehead* So the question now is did that get bumped by Spyware or is the better answer I'm an idiot and bumped it myself? :D

Hey thanks, either way.

Hello Tig1096:
If you have a scroll button on your mouse/ trackball and you hold the "Alt" key while scrolling you will change the font size in IE on pages with unspecified font sizes. Brad.

I think he meant the "Ctrl" key, not the "Alt" key :)

But yeah, I bet that's how it got changed. Bumping the ctrl key while scrolling will change the text size, and on some sites (I think with certain css setups) you can't tell the difference. Then you go to a site where the size can change, and everything looks messed up.

Glad you fixed your problem :)
