when i hit the back button (i have ie5), it does not take me back to original page. it takes me to the page i am currently on. i have to double click to get back. the addresses in the lower address bar move to quick for me to see what is going on there. first i can see 127.0.01, then some kind of dns error, then my current page is reloaded. what is going on here.

The web site is 'hi-jacking' your browser, doesn't want you to leave it easily, trying to keep your smiling face looking at it, not knowing about the frown. The designers of the site get paid to do that. When it happens to me, I hit the little down arrow on the Back button and pick a site I had been to before it, may be down the list 2 or 3 lines. Or just hit the Home button and start over.

The other alternative is to press the BACK button twice (or thrice) - asin a double click.

This I find usually gets around the little JavaScript applet the web master has put in place to stop you going away from their web site. [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

In IE, Right Click the Back button and in the subsequest list, click the site two levels or more down from the top. You are being HiJacked by the site and it's a lousy way to do business. Don't go back there or write their webmaster a nasty note telling them how you feel about being hijacked!

In other words, don't just do something, sit there!
