Browser asks how to open PHP file. 1

I followed the instructions on the following website to install PHP & Apache on Windows.

Every time I try to browse to a PHP file Windows asks me what program I want to use to open the file.

I have followed the instructions on the site exactly. Anybdoy know what I could be doing wrong?

Are you sure that Windows, the operating system, is asking that ? If yes, how are you browsing to such PHP file ?

By the way, are you sure you did step 3. 4. ( Restart the Apache Webserver ) too ?

Just tried it again this morning and seems to be working fine. I've set Apache + PHP up on Linux many times and never had problem like that but have never attempted doing it on Windows. Didn't want to use WAMP or something because i want to learn how to set it up on Windows not have an install program do it for me. Anyway, it seems fixed, thanks for the reply.
