When I use Nautilus to browse Windows share; using"
smb:\\server\shares, I could see the shares, however, whenever I try to access the subfolders under the share, I got access denied erro. I am using RH7.3, I could use smbclient to access the windows shares.

From Windows box, I could map/browse linux shares, no problem.

Thanks,

Phil

I found out the correct syntax to use the Nautilus to browse the smb share:

At Nautilus:
smb://user:password@servername/share/

This has been documented by Redhat. My problem with this would be: You are typing your password in a clear text. How can you not sending a clear password, yet be able to access those smb shares ?

Phil
