I am pretty new at this but I did manage to get my command button to open up my excel spreadsheet using VB. What I would like to do is open my excel spreadshee, rename it, then have the transferspreadsheet search for the file and link specific tables to access.

Also I would like to use these same spreadsheets for editing if anything changes. So in other words, I want to link them the first time and also be able to go back and get the renamed excel file and re-link the same tables once editing is complete.

I am doing this because once the spreadsheet is complete I need to password each excel file once a certain cell is filled in. In other words the final cost of the project will be the key cell or key field in the linked table to password the excel file so it can only be edited by certain people.

If anyone has any ideas this is a major step in my program to get to the finish line. PLEASE HELP[flip]
