broken type

I have a problem that's going to cost me money. and a client.
Recreated a bunch of forms for a company which uses AI 10 PC version.
I have AI 11 Mac version.
Saved the files as eps and ai
Exported to legacy 8 and 10.
Type is broken up in all 4 versions.
Company cannot edit new forms.

We never had a problem till OSX. (I'm using Tiger on the newest G5 Intel). The last round we did was in ver. 9 cross platform. Neither one of us still has those programs.

If I don't find a solution, I will have to refund payment plus, since we're not compatible anymore, I will lose this client.

We've also tried .pdf files with same results..
I'd sell my eye teeth for AI version 8 for OSX.

...sounds nasty, only time i experience problem with typefaces in legacy files is when the version of font is slightly different on the machine i am trying to open it on, even though it is called the same name and appears to open correctly...

...could be a problem with the fact the font u used is a mac version and the pc users haven't got a suitable version...

...I have fontlab here on my mac at work which can convert mac to pc fonts, if you want to try this route let me know, it may help and worth a try to get u out of the ****!!...

I have since talked to several user techies since yesterday. Appparentlly CS uses a new font engine which is not compatible with versions 10 and under. This is a problem that Adobe has been promising to fix since CS was first introduced.

Has nothing to do with compatible fonts.

What I'm told is DON'T THROW AWAY ILLUSTRATOR 10. It's the only OSX version of illustrator that will not break type up when down saving.

I don't have 10. I skipped from 9 to 11. I reloaded 8 and 9 on another computer and on future projects will generate certain ai files with copious text there.
