I have a P630, one of the DDR memory modules has a broken pin,(Address 4 on RAM) The system still runs fine, even running diag and Error log analysis I get "No Trouble Found"

Anyone know why this is not reporting problem?

Hi,

Two possible reasons:

1.This pin in not in use - this happens.
2.Your appliaction have not yet run into the memory space that involves the usage of this pin (adress for example).

Diag does only a partial memory testing... "Long live king Moshiach !"

Hi,
I think P630 has Service Processor.
You can connect to box using ACSII terminal or notebook and try manually to configure DIMM 4.
I have this problem time to time on all Power3 boxes and one time only memory DIMM was broken. In all other cases I configured it manually.
