Broken MTA

I am using 5.5 SP4 on a Windows NT Server 4.0 Sp6a. After I applied the RPC Security Patch MS01-041 for Exchange the MTA will no longer start. I uninstalled the patch it still wouldn't start. I reapplied SP4 and now I can start it manually. Ideas?

Try to run MTACHECK from the command line. Also try to remove all files in the MTA in/out directories.
