So somewhere along the line I have accidentally broken our night switch flex buttons on our receptions phone. ( I have an iPECS-50B). Unfortunately I'm pretty green on the iPECS system, so escuse the daftness.

I took a backup of the phone system database when it was first installed (and working correctly) and I have tried restoring it to check for different settings, then re-applying the current database and searching any changes.

The problem I'm having is that the two buttons the receptionist used to press, one which switched night switch on and the other to listen to VM's, don't work. And when I try to go in to Flex Buttons (115) to re-apply them, it simply won't save the changes.

I found that these were the two Flex buttons that were originally programmed on the front desk phone.

Flex 23 Programming (Numbering Plan) FWD:BUSY_N HUNT 640
Flex 24 Programming (Numbering Plan) HUNT PILOT : 640

640 is our VM group.

I'm not sure why the flex button isn't applying, or where else I can look in the backup database to see what's changed. The Station Attributes (111-113) are identical on the old and new databases.

Also, is there any way I can look at the old database without having to do a full restore back and forth (consequently bringing down the phone system every time)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

when you want to have a look in a stored MFIM database you need the OWA (Offline Web Admin) software.

Thanks so much Doktor, you've solved my problem yet again, and thank you xs650 I found the OWA software (God bless the Russians) and it has saved me twice so far...

I have another strange problem, while I've got you guys here.

Our DID goes to a Ring group (620) which has two stations assigned 500 (Reception) and 503 (PA). The problem is, if both 500 and 503 are on a call, and someone tries to call in, neither of the phones will ring, and no-body in the office knows a call is trying to get through, the external caller simply hears a ring tone, until they give up or 500 or 503 get off the phone and answer it.

As a temporary workaround, I have setup a new group 622, which contains 3 other phones around the office, and set it as the overflow for 620 with a 10 second timout. This isn't ideal.

Ideally I would like to have it so that the Reception phone always rings, even if the receptionist is on the phone. Is that possible? Or are there any other suggestions?
