hey guys,

Been a lurker on here for quite some time and never made the jump into the world, but gotta say feels good to be signed up!

So I've got an issue on hand here...

I have a core network running on a 10.0.101.1/24 subnet for all our LAN clients. I also have a demo lab holding the 10.0.102.1/24 and other subnets. I wanted to tie the two swithes together and have it so i can be on the .101.1/24 subnet and be able to talk to the .102.1/24 subnet or ANY subnet i create on the Extreme switch for that matter!

I have set up 2 VR interfaces on the Brocade, (1 for .101.1 sub and one for .102.1 sub)

Problem is i am still unable to ping from my extreme to the brocade and vice a versa.. here is a quick show Vlan. Mind you if i plug into the port on the brocade and put myself in the subnet i can ping the virtual interface on the brocade..

So i was poking around here and did notice that maybe i need to set my default gateway to be the 10.0.101.1 network, but that would only be good for internet access, NOT the .102.1/24 subnet.

My next theory is the problem with the VR-Default Router. Will/is this creating a conflict with my brocade cause we are doing double routing??? My gut says yes... but never 100% sure!

I'll leave it here, cause i have been here for about 12 hours and quite frankly, I'm a little shot on the situation.

Ill report in tomorrow when i begin with another go..

Thanks for your time,

P
