MM for Exchange builds a mail enabled distribution list during installation and maintains that group as time goes on. The DL's membership is made up of every MM enabled account. You can assign a NUMERIC address to it to allow subscribers to address messages to this DL using the NUMERIC address. If you want other groups/lists that MM can use you should either create new ones or use existing groups/lists and assign a NUMERIC address to them. FYI, the groups/lists have to be mail-enabled in order for MM to send messages to them.
Thanks - I finally got my hands on some documentation and now this makes sense. I do not want the ability from my own voicemail box...but would rather have a special box in Active Directory for Broadcasting. What is the parameter to give that box the ability to send a broadcast message?
Also, can that box have PDLs? And send a message to just a PDL and not a broadcast when desired?
If you setup a separate account in MMto do your "broadcasting" that would use another MM license but you can do it if you want. And yes you can use a PDL just like any other subscriber.
